Hello!
Ok, so this first blog post requires a little bit of background. Last Year I was a huge part of my schools Lit Club, I have since left this school and that is probably one of the biggest things I miss. I will go into why I left the school in a later blog post for I feel it's a bit heavy for a get to know you. Anyways i wanted to get something up and so i decided why not start with some past writing I've done. This small little story isn't very long and was based off of a writing prompt we received during a past Lit Club meeting, The prompt : Three children are sitting on a log near the stream. I saw this prompt and I had to think. This was one of the harder prompts i've received. This is what I came up with,
Three children are sitting on a log near the stream. One of them looks up and says “what is love? Is love pain? What is love Molly?” The little girl to her left stared out at the stream, lost in thought before she replied. “Love can cause pain. Love can hurt. Love is just a word.” “What does that mean?” The little girl mumbled inquisitively. Daren who was sitting on her other side leaned in and hugged her. “It’s complicated, love is complicated. It’s hard to explain what love feels like.” Daren looked over at Molly with pleading eyes before changing the subject. “If you could have anything in the world, what would you want?” “My daddy” she replies without hesitation, “my daddy to want me.” Her voice wavers and the tears she’s been holding in spill over and run thickly down her cheeks. Molly pulls her close as she sobs and tells her “it’s all my fault that daddy left! Why am I so stupid?!” She continued sobbing into Molly’s chest. She felt secure when she was with Molly, she felt safe. “It’s not your fault. You are wonderful and if your father can’t see that…” Molly says kissing the top of her head knowing their time was almost up. The little girl felt the change, the warmth fading. She pulled away from Molly and looked at Daren to realize they were both fading. “Please don’t leave me!” She begged in a panicked voice. “I can’t do this without you.” Her panic rising as she reached for Molly only to feel nothing. She quickly turned and reached for Daren only to see him fade into nothing. “No! Come back!” She yelled, recoiling at the harsh sound of reality, silence. “Please, take me with you” she whispered sliding off the log in defeat.
I have an extreme form of anxiety and suffer from depression and anxiety attacks, It is taking a lot for me to start sharing my story but I'm hoping it will help other people to get through and always know that at the end of the Darkest storm is the prettiest Rainbow.
